Reaction Mechanism in Catalytic Soot Combustion with CeO2 Catalysts
Introduction Diesel soot elimination is a very difficult problem. The catalytic filters seems to be one of the technological alternatives in order to trap and burn the soot, at the exhaust gas temperature. In order to advance in a rational catalyst design, the reaction mechanism must be understood. In spite of this need, and even though there are many papers in the field, detailed studies regar...
متن کاملSynthesis of Ordered Mesoporous CuO/CeO2 Composite Frameworks as Anode Catalysts for Water Oxidation
Cerium-rich metal oxide materials have recently emerged as promising candidates for the photocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this article, we report the synthesis of ordered mesoporous CuO/CeO₂ composite frameworks with different contents of copper(II) oxide and demonstrate their activity for photocatalytic O₂ production via UV-Vis light-driven oxidation of water. Mesoporous CuO/C...
متن کاملNon-Noble Metal Oxide Catalysts for Methane Catalytic Combustion: Sonochemical Synthesis and Characterisation
The aim of this study was to obtain nanocrystalline mixed metal-oxide-ZrO₂ catalysts via a sonochemically-induced preparation method. The effect of a stabiliser's addition on the catalyst parameters was investigated by several characterisation methods including X-ray Diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispers...

Catalytic partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas over Ni–CeO2
The partial oxidation of methane to syngas was studied in this work over Ni-containing ceria catalysts with nickel content of 5, 10 and 20 at.% at atmospheric pressure. All catalysts, in the as prepared state, showed similar activity and CO selectivity at T ≥ 550◦C. Catalyst pre-reduction was not required. Reaction mixtures were dilute, containing 3 mol% CH4 and 1.5 mol% O2. Methane conversion ...
